Asokarishta is an Ayurvedic medicine and is widely used in menstrual disorders and other gynecological complaints. Asoka literally means one which removes the sorrow.
Asokarishtam uses: It is used in Ayurveda treatments for many diseases like, dysmenorrhea, Painful menstruation, heavy bleeding, leucorrhea, fever, bleeding hemorrhoids, inflammation, indigestion and lack of taste.
- Asrigdhara – heavy menstrual bleeding
- Ruja – useful in dysmenorrhea – painful periods
- Jwara – fever
- Raktapitta – bleeding disorders like nasal bleeding
- Arsha – bleeding hemorrhoids
- Mandagni – low digestion strength
- Aruchi – anorexia, lack of taste in food
Dose: 5 – 10 ml, once or twice a day, after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. Those with irritation in the stomach can take this with equal quantity of water.
Adjuvants: Pravala bhasma.

- Amrasthi – mango seed – 48 g
- Jeeraka – cumin seed – 48 g
- Vasa – Adhatoda vasica – whole plant – 48 g
- Chandana – Santalum album (sandalwood) – 48 g
